Tanya Bates - Clinical Nutritionist, Contemporary Pilates instructor and owner of Nutriment 4 Living

Nutriment 4 Living’s holistic approach begins with you and how you live. From the physical and mental aspects through to the emotional and spiritual. The programs go beyond simply Nutrition and Pilates. I focus on providing nutriment to create an abundant living experience.

Hi, I’m Tanya

I’m a Clinical Nutritionist and Functional Pilates & Mindful Movement Instructor. I truly believe we are all capable of living well and feeling good.

My own wellbeing journey began in 2008 when I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. I was shocked. I couldn’t comprehend how or why this illness had developed. I thought I was doing everything ‘right’ – looking after myself and my young family, and living a ‘healthy’ life.

I wanted to understand what was going on, so I examined my lifestyle and nutrition. It was only after I began to make changes, I saw how my body was (or wasn’t) working.

Once I started to feel well again, I realised how sick I had been. Those changes I made transformed my life. Since then, I’ve completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional & Dietetic Medicine) and qualified as a Certified Pilates Instructor. I’m passionate about continuing to learn more to help others and so my journey continues.

I’m equipped with years of experience and expertise to help you live well. You truly deserve a happy, healthy, fulfilled life.

I take an integrative approach to Nutrition and Movement. This means I explore all aspects of your health and lifestyle before I offer advice. Your treatment is entirely bespoke. Personal to you. It’s designed to improve and align the body’s functions with how you live.

I’ll teach you how to understand your body and support your own healing. I’ll guide you to work through any difficulties and equip you with tools for life. The amazing thing is they’re YOUR tools, designed just for you. We’ve all had different journeys to this point. And that means our bodies are wonderfully unique. By recognising and understanding ‘you’ we can achieve great results.

The Buddhist belief is we need more than just food to sustain life. It’s about balancing our body, mind, heart and spirit. We need to satisfy these 4 nutriments. My approach is holistic. When treating clients, I work on the 4 nutriments of life. My programs go beyond simply food and Pilates, what they eat and the way they stretch on a Pilates mat.
